Zea Vice Chairman of "Buy
California"
California Forest Products Commission President, Donn Zea, has been appointed
vice chairman of "Buy California," a newly created, private-public
program aimed at educating consumers on the benefits of buying California
agricultural products. "The forest products industry is proud to join other
key members of the agricultural community in the 'Buy California' promotional
campaign," says Zea. "Our participation in the program, which will
urge Californians to consume agricultural products grown and/or manufactured in
this state, underscores our industry's commitment to environmentally sustainable
forestry, providing high-quality jobs, and offering Californians the best wood
products in the world. Zea adds, "The average Californian consumes the
equivalent of a 100-foot tree every year-totaling more than in any other state.
Yet, because of regulatory constraints and competition from imports, less than
one-third of the wood building materials Californians consume come from
California forests.
