Case Alpha Series SkiddersCase Launches Nine Alpha Series Skid Steers
Case Construction Equipment recently launched its new Alpha Series line of skid steers. The engines range from 46 HP to 90 HP, with rated operating capacities ranging from 1,300 lb. in the new class-size SR130 to 3,000 lb. in the SV300. The radial lift machines are engineered for digging, prying, and pushing, while the vertical lift models excel at lift and- carry applications. The CaseAlpha Series includes six radial-lift skid steers (the SR130, SR150, SR175, SR200, SR220, and SR250)and three vertical-lift models (the SV185, SV250 and SV300). The skid steer cabs are 25% larger, with a revolutionary ultra-narrow wire side-screen design. Skid steers also feature larger fuel tanks and improved fuel efficiency.

StihlNew Fuel-Efficient STIHL Chain Saws
The innovative engine technology on the new STIHL MS 261 and MS 261 C-Q chain saws reduces emissions up to 50%. It also provides up to a 20% increase in fuel efficiency to previous models. They come equipped with a decompression valve for easier starts and an advanced anti-vibration system. The compact, space-saving design of the split-barrel carburetor, and the stainless steel muffler, reduce overall weight. Both the STIHL MS 261 and the MS 261 C-Q include a side-access chain tensioner, tool-less fuel and oil caps with retainers, and a translucent fuel tank. Captive bar nuts are retained in the sprocket cover and are designed for self-guided mounting. Pre-separation air filtration provides greater air cleaning efficiency.

John Deere D-SeriesJohn Deere D-Series Log Loaders
The new D-Series loaders — the 2154D, the 2454D, 2954D, and 3754D — feature Tier 3 compliant engines with improved HP, new hydraulic systems with more power, and stronger more durable structures. Other updates include:
- Strong boom-tower arrangement, thick base plates, andlarge-diameter swing bearings
- Larger undercarriage components and next-size-up drive motors
- Improved guarding systems The 2954D and 3754D’s feature a powerful swing torque and track power, reach, and a larger class of undercarriage. The 2154D is appropriate for truck loading and road building. The larger 2454D can be fitted with a dangle head processor or delimber.

HysterHyster Electric Life Truck
Hyster Company has unveiled its next generation oftough, durable, and ultra-reliable electric lift trucks. The new Hyster® E30-40XN series delivers lifting capacities of 3,000 to 4,000 lbs. and offers significant performance and versatility for a wide variety of material handling applications.

The series includes: newly designed, industry- leading operator compartments; 16% more floor space; relocated multifunction displays that ensure enhanced visibility and precise pallet control; improved brake pedal layout; Auto Deceleration System to reduce operator fatigue; and more Maintenance costs are reduced by with AC motors and transistor controller technology.

New Cat® Wheel Harvester Cab
Caterpillar Forest Products recently introduced a new cab on the Cat® 550 wheel harvester that significantly improves the ergonomics and operator comfort. Better airflow, a more comfortable seat, and improved night visibility are a few highlights. The new air suspension seat absorbs shocks and provides added comfort during extended shifts. Lumbar support and neck rests are adjustable. Armrests and joysticks are also adjustable in all directions and angles, and the seat and back support are heated.

The AC/heater system’s capacity has been increased. “Set it and forget it” automatic control maintains a consistent cab temperature.

Also, the IQAN-MDL control system has been updated to accommodate new programming features.

FeconFecon introduces FTX600
Fecon® Inc.’s FTX600 is the new flagship tractor. Equipped with a 600 HP Cummins QSX15 engine, the FTX600 delivers 210 gallons of hydraulic flow to the variable speed mulching head and solid power to the hydrostatic all steel oscillating undercarriage.

Fitted with either the Fecon BH300 or BH350 Bull Hog®, theFTX600 can achieve 98” cutting height and 32” below grade. Fecon’s Power Management® system optimizes torque and rotor speed.

New Link-Belt® X3 Series Excavators
This year LBX is introducing five new Link-Belt X3 Series Excavators beginning with the debut of the 250-, 300-, and 350class machines at ConExpo in March. Mid-year, a 250 Long-Front and 470-class excavator will be made available. The X3 Series full-sized conventional models have been completely redesigned with an all new ROPS certified cab and interior, new Interim Tier 4A engine technology and up to 10% better fuel efficiency, more lift capacity, faster cycle times, and improved serviceability.

The new family of engines is EPA certified to Interim Tier 4Astandards utilizing cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) and diesel particulate filter technology (DPF). With “passive regeneration” to maintain cleanliness of the particulate filter, this emission reduction technology does not require daily maintenance like that of a Selective Catalytic Reduction system.
