Nikon announced an all-new Forestry Pro II laser rangefinder/hypsometer. This third-generation, multi-function forestry rangefinder/hypsometer brings a new level of capability, convenience, and value to forest professionals.
Originally developed as a surveying instrument for simple, precision measurements and calculations, this new model is equipped with enhanced ranging capabilities, improved accuracy, and faster response time. In addition, a new log function that stores up to 250 measurement results has been integrated.
It offers remote measurements for actual distance, horizontal distance, height, angle, and both the difference in height between two targets (vertical separation) and three-points measurements (the height between two points).
The XR rotators are reliable partners in areas where the requirements for rotator functionality are high.
With its well-dimensioned hydraulic connections and extremely high torque, the XR series is a broad product range for demanding applications. XR is designed for excavators and the most major applications. All of the models in the series have modular designs that make them service friendly and flexible. The engine and swivel are integrated and the unique, patented transmission insulates the engine and swivel from external loads, which means long service life.
"XR is a multi-sized modular system that can be offered with more functionality such as extra channels, electric swivel, oil distributor, fixation points, and hose protection," says Indexator’s Johnny Karlsson.
The XR program is already available in a number of sizes with lifting capacities between 9 and 85 tonnes, depending on application, use, and assembly.
John Deere is offering an upgrade to its comprehensive warranty coverage on all new forestry equipment products purchased between Nov. 1, 2019 and Feb. 29, 2020.
When combined with a John Deere dealer preventative maintenance program, the warranty upgrade program will give customers the opportunity to reduce their cost variability to a single, low-risk payment. The warranty will work in tandem with the strong John Deere dealer network that delivers trained technicians for fast diagnosis, repairs, and unmatched parts availability.
This offer is valid until February 29, 2020, in the United States and Canada, and applies only to extended warranties purchased on new John Deere Forestry machines at participating John Deere dealers.
Alliance Tire Americas announced that its Primex brand forestry tires are now offered on John Deere’s 640L-II, 648L-II, 748L-II, 848L-II, and 948L-II log skidders and on the company’s 643L-II and 848L-II wheeled feller bunchers.
Alliance forestry tires have for years been OE fitments on Deere’s forwarders built in Europe and on several other top forestry equipment brands manufactured in the U.S. Alliance and Primex forestry tires are highly regarded in the replacement market for logging tires and are in widespread use. These new positions with John Deere Forestry Division reflect the broad acceptance of the Alliance and Primex forestry tires in the forestry industry.
“The forestry market is rough — from the challenges to the tires to the competitiveness of the industry,” says Eric Lasko, O.E. account manager for Alliance Tire Americas. “It’s exciting to see new machinery rolling off the line on Primex LogMonster, Primex LogStomper Xtremes, and on our line of Alliance 342, 343, and 346 logging tires.
