Eliminator Hammermill Improves Productivity![]() The octagonal mill housing design of the Eliminator hammermill from Bliss Industries improves grinding performance while remaining energy efficient. Safety features include an automatic locking device that prevents the doors from being opened until the rotor has completely stopped. The Bliss Eliminator offers recessed rotors behind the internal wear plates to reduce air circulation and prolong use. The rotors are quickly and easily changed from the side of the hammermill and each rotor is balanced at actual operating speed. Grinding occurs against the internal wear plates which are economical and easy to replace, the company says. Additional features include the reversible rotor, easy access doors, a onepiece screen carriage and longwearing parts. CAM Technologies Releases SiCam Version 1.4CAM Technologies announces the release of Version 1.4 of its SiCam RealTime software. SiCam RealTime is integrated with laser sensors under a turnkey installation approach and with existing mill scanning devices to provide mill-wide control with lineal and transverse monitoring. The system collects dimension information for every cant and board right after they've been sawn. If a size or variation problem starts to occur, the system warns the manufacturing team via pager or signal immediately, saving valuable fibre, time and money. The new version offers an enhanced raw data server, custom designed for lumber size and control, that delivers increased sensor accuracy and reliability, the company says. Other features include shape detection for bevel/wedge in addition to the existing longitudinal shape analysis and a summary monitor to display statis tics on each piece. SiCam RealTime tracks machines, saw lines and products for quick troubleshooting. Timba Tec Data Collection![]() Created for use in extreme conditions, Timba Tec mobile data collection devices are ready for use at -20 degrees C. The Timba Tec CE and Pocket are robust, watertight, ergonomically-designed and compact models that use the operating system Windows CE, which is compatible with many different programming languages. The CE has at least 32MB of data memory and a six-inch disp l a y, while the Pocket has 16 MB of data memory and a four-inch display. Both have 16 MB of programming memory. The battery packs are equipped with a chip that records the battery's life. There is a variety of hardware and software available for both rechargeable units. Kubota Diesels Power Latest WoodMizerPortable band sawmills from WoodMizer Canada are more powerful with the incorporation of 33hp and 42hp Kubota diesel engines. As a result, the sawmills have improved feed rates and will cut up to 56 fpm and 66 fpm-an improvement of 10 and 16 per cent respectively. The 42hp turbo-charged, water-cooled engine will power the Super Hydraulic LT40HDD42 model, the highest production model. The LT40HDD33 will be powered by the non-turbo, 33hp version. Chalmers Introduces New Suspension SystemCanada' only manufacturer of suspensions for heavy-duty trucks and trailers is launching its new Tridem Suspension System. Chalmers Suspensions says the system, for on and off-road applications, is modeled on its rubber springs and walking beams concept and is available in 75,000lb and 120,000lb versions. The Tridem is suited for any applications where three drive axles are required and is fully equalizing and articulating. Hultdins' Rototilt Expands Excavator CapabilitiesHultdins introduces Rototilt, the combined rotator and tilt mechanism for excavator and loader attachments. The multidirectional action allows the bucket or other tool to be positioned precisely, saving time, and in some applications, it can avoid the need for a second machine. In addition to unlimited rotation and side tilt, the Rototilt features an innovative hydraulic quick couple for tool changes without leaving the cab. Its flexibility means the operator can perform many tasks from inside the cab without outside help. Rototilt increases the scope of excavator use for maximum utilization of the machine. Edge Protector Shields PackagingThe Roberts PolyPro Edge Protector is designed to act as a shield to protect the corners of packaging during shipping. Made for use on lumber or other materials held together by strapping, the protectors end strap burn and abrasions. Pre-scored fold lines and pop-out tabs keep the straps secure and make the durable, lightweight plastic edge protectors easy to apply. The Edge Protectors are made of recyclable plastic and do not absorb moisture like paperboard protectors. Roberts PolyPro also makes a Lumber Edge Protector Applicator, designed to mount on existing strappers, which can dispense and position five applications per minute of Edge Protectors to stacks of lumber. Roberts PolyPro produces a complete line of packaging and converting fixtures, fitments and components, as well as a modular line of packaging and converting machinery. Fabtek Introduces C Model ForwardersFabtek's new "C" Model forwarders, the latest addition to the company's 500 series lineup including the 544, 546, and 548, offers 20 per cent stronger rear axle/bogie assemblies and enlarged loader mast bearing and pin size. Anew electronically controlled hydraulic valve system includes a cushioned stop system on both the loader swing and steering functions. Electronically adjustable joystick controls give the operator the opportunity to adjust ramp rates on the loader function, while steering in forward and reverse positions has been incorporated into a single proportional joystick. Operators will find an improved hydraulic system in terms of speed and smoothness, the company says. |
