Phillips Named Seattle Region
General Manager
Larry Phillips has been named the Seattle Region General Manager
for
Pape Machinery, Inc., overseeing operations in Tacoma, Kent and Mount Vernon,
Washington. He was previously the President of Hessel Tractor Co., which was
acquired by Pape Machinery in April 2002. Phillips has more than 30 years of
experience in the capital equipment industry. A native of the Seattle area,
Phillips holds an undergraduate degree in finance and an MBA from the University
of Washington. He served two terms on the John Deere advisory board and has been
active in the Oregon Machinery Dealers Association.
New Volvo Officers
Paul Torrington and Pat MacFarland have been appointed Vice President and Chief
Financial Officer, respectively, for Volvo Construction Equipment North America
Inc., and Volvo Construction Equipment Rents Inc., Asheville, North Carolina.
Jay Roszell, President and Chief Executive Officer for Volvo Construction
Equipment North America and Michael Farley, President and Chief Executive Office
for Volvo Construction Equipment Rents Inc. announced the appointments in a
joint statement.
Stihl Seeks "Forestry
Heroes"
Stihl Inc. has launched the nomination process for its National Forestry Heroism
Award for 2003. The award winner will be selected from a wide range of people.
"Given the extraordinary sacrifices and acts of bravery American men and

nation’s forests, we believe it’s only fitting to honor one person each year as
the Stihl National Forestry Hero. Firefighters, loggers, and forest and park

Clark Named Sales Rep
McKenzie Forest Products, located in Oregon, has named Roger Clark as their
newest sales representative. Clark was previously the product manager for
Willamette Industries Inc.’s Western Plywood group. He has more than 35 years
experience in the plywood industry, and at McKenzie he will sell and market the
company’s mix of plywood products.
Thomas Takes Helm
Lee M. Thomas, former president of Georgia-Pacific's building products
operations, has been named president of the company. He will report to Chairman
and Chief Executive A.D. Correll.
Neeser Named VP
Weyerhaeuser named Craig Neeser as vice president, British Columbia. Neeser was
previously vice president for the company's B.C. Coastal Group. He will now be
responsible for the company's B.C. Interior forestlands operations.
