Cats New High Performance Forest Machine
The 322C Forest Machine from Caterpillar is a swing machine offering high performance engine and hydraulics, purpose-built forestry structures, an ergonomic operator cab and easy maintenance, the company says. The versatile machine can be configured as a log loader, delimber or roadbuilder. Based on the new 322C hydraulic excavator technology, the 322C FM offers faster implement speeds and stronger pivot turns, the company says, with eight per cent more horsepower and eight per cent more hydraulic flow. Powered by a 162-hp Cat 3126TA six-cylinder diesel engine, the 322C FM has hydraulic cross-sensing, controlling both hydraulic pumps to use 100 per cent of available power in all conditions. Hydraulic cylinder snubbers, located at the rod end of the boom cylinders and at both ends of the stick cylinders, cushion shocks and increase cylinder life. The reinforced body and log-loading front linkage are purpose built. Front-end linkages include heel-type loader arrangements to fit a wide variety of log handling and loading applications.
