Peterson introduces new horizontal recycler

The Peterson model 6700B horizontal recycler was unveiled at the recent CONEXPO show. The 6700B is the company’s newest model in its line of heavy-duty grinders.

It is powered by a 1,000-hp Caterpillar 3412E diesel engine, and is designed for size reduction of large quantities of mixed landfill, construction and wood materials. The feed opening of 50” x 66” allows the 6700B to process massive stumps that used to be reserved for tub grinders. And operators can adjust settings to maximize production and for specialized end products.

The 6700B also features an impact release system to minimize damage from contaminants. The anvil and first grate open if a severe impact occurs, allowing the contaminant to be ejected. The system then re-latches to permit continuous grinding.

John Deere to leverage its colour combination in equipment

At the Elmia Wood forestry show in Sweden, John Deere announced that it plans to leverage its powerful brand and well-known green and yellow color combination in its global forestry equipment line. It showcased its entire main advanced harvesting systems and full tree systems in the new trade dress.

“The change will contribute to our single global focus on the forestry business, keeping our forestry customers at the centre of everything we do worldwide,” said Eric Hansotia, vice president, John Deere Forestry Group.

After the Elmia Wood show, production will start for worldwide distribution of forestry equipment in the John Deere green and yellow trade dress. Also, all Deere-owned Timberjack facilities will display John Deere Forestry signage. The Timberjack brand will, however, remain visible on the thousands of Timberjack machines still working productively in the forests.
